Phone-calls

The first place we contacted was the Department of Public Enterprise for a copy of the National Emergency Plan. However Mr. Joe Jacob said that there was a bit of confusion and the plan hadn't been made out yet. He said if I wanted, he would send me the last one issued. When we received it we realised that it was from 1992 and it was quite dated and unhelpful.

One of the aims of our project was to find out whether or not iodide could be added to powdered foods. We phoned some of the major powdered foods producers to get some information about iodide content in their foods and the possibility of adding iodide to their foods for health purposes if it was not already present

We also phoned the Public Analyst laboratory to find out about the possibility of adding iodide to drinking water
